Recently I was introduced to a new, hip Latina apparel line called Palomaya. Palomaya- is a combination of the words Paloma (a dove) and with the name Maya. Company founder Lorena Musselman selected Maya in memory of her daughter.
Founder of Palomaya- Lorena Musselman
“Palomaya was founded to inspire, nurture and celebrate the fusion of the Latino and American cultures, and to share the gifts that I have been fortunate enough to receive along the way – Freedom, Strength and Love.”- Lorena
Que piensan when you hear Freedom, Strength, and love? Do you think of your self? If you are Latina, do these words describe how you live your vida?
I am going through several struggles with my familia and some personal issues. I think of my youth, and I didn’t have the freedom I wanted to have. I find strength in my faith, although, right now spiritually… I am struggling. Love… my one true passion. Love.
Sorry if I sound like a downer, but reading through the Palomaya site, it made me think alot. I started this post off feeling really low. Since then, I’ve read history behind Palomaya, and it made me change the way I was seeing life right now.
Like this for example:
“In being free, strong and overflowing with love, Palomaya finds the needs of those around us difficult to stomach. Yet they are even harder to ignore. Whether great or small, near or far, the Palomaya family knows that we can make a difference.”- Palomaya
How true is that, no?
Freedom: My blog. My readers… you!
Strength: My kids. My friends. My God.
Love: My hubby. My familia.
My Thoughts:
It may sound dorky, getting Freedom, Strength, Love from a clothing line, but what’s behind the clothing line, is what impacted me the most.
Gracias Palomaya. From one Latina to another… “Te deseo lo mejor”
Check out their site. Pretty cute stuff… you know, for “us” trendy Latinas!
**Disclaimer** I received a t-shirt for my personal use. I got nada but, positive vibes from this post. (:

You look good! Love the tops!
I love her and her brand!!
Liz, what a beautiful and heartfelt post! You are not alone, we have all had bad and good days – and people like Lorena that go through that, and more, are able to provide us with the inspiration to keep going.
Gracias por sus comentarios!
Looking good girl!!!!
